Day 15 Daintree N.P.
Day dedicated to touring the coast to Cape Tribulation, an area of lonely beaches and rainforests.
(in 70 Km.) Port Douglas: North of Cairns is Port Douglas, a former fishing town dedicated to tourism. Its port is an alternative to Cairns to navigate to the Great Barrier and a good place to start excursions to Cape Tribulation. Among its tourist attractions highlights the long beach of 4 Mile Beach and the Anzac Park area.

Daintree N.P. - Mossman Gorge
(in 14 Km.) Mossman: 10 minutes inland from this town, the Mossman gorge looks the same as that of the tropical forest rivers. Its bed covered with boulders allows you to cool off in one of its ponds (which cannot be done for example in other rivers in the area due to crocodiles). The aboriginal community built a 2.7-kilometer path that goes into the gorge and allows you to contemplate all the vegetation of these rainforests. There is the possibility of hiring a guided visit to one of the aborigines.

Daintree N.P. - Mossman Gorge
(in 36 Km.) Daintree: It is an ideal village to hire a walk to see crocodiles. Before reaching the town, take the detour that leads to the ferry that crosses the Daintree River. While waiting for the ferry you can see the many signs that warn of the danger of crocodiles or even some trap to hunt them. After crossing the river, the paved road runs through lush tropical forests and fantastic beaches such as Thornton Beach or Noah Beach.

Daintree N.P. - Cape Tribulation
(in 37 Km.) Cape Tribulation: This area of Daintree National Park was baptized when Captain Cook's boat hit a reef near the shore in June 1770. It is recommended to walk the area on foot through the forest listening to how the sea breaks on the beach. A path leads to the end, where birds of different colors can be found or even a crocodile on the beach. They say that this place is the only one in the world where the rainforest reaches the sea.

(in 151 Km.) Cairns: We undo all the way of the day to return to our lodge.
