(in 352 Km.) Puerto Montt: Puerto Montt, a distribution point for air, marine and land transport south of Chile is located in the former area colonized by Germans in the mid-nineteenth century. It is one of the largest cities in southern Chile and is the gateway to the southern end of the Lake District, the island of Chiloé and Chilean Patagonia.

Angelmo is a beautiful fishing village and a market three kilometers southwest of downtown. In its craft shops you can buy sweaters, boots, curios, copper pieces and wool gloves. It is advisable to eat in one of the many small restaurants with good views and quiet once you are inside. The sad thing is that many of the employees are very irritating to attract tourists.
